Lion brand patterns!

For those of you who don't know Lion-brand has tons of free knitting and crochet patterns. All you have to do is sign up! It's free and you get a neat little e-mail with a stitch of the week. :) Or you can sign up and choose not to get the e-mail at all.
Here's some new patterns they put up recently:
Amigurumi alien
Angel Fish
Amigurumi Pig
Bear
Cat
Amigurumi Frog
Gnome
Little Guy
Lion
Amigurumi Octopus
Owl
Amigurumi Panda
Small Amigurumi Penguin
Small Amigurumi Pig
Amigurumi Penguin
Amigurumi Santa
Amigurumi Reindeer
Amigurumi Snowman

And I just have to rant a moment becasue this is something that bugs me. Amigurumi is not just any stuffed toy that's crocheted and cute. For a crocheted toy to be amigurumi it has to be made in the round with mostly or all single crochet. I get very frustrated when any toy that's crocheted is labeled amigurumi! So I have taken the word amigurumi out of the names of the Lion-brand patterns that are two flat pieces stitched together.
If someone knows the definition of knitted amigurumi I'd love to know what it is!

reply to leslie and anapaulaoli patterns!

"Leslie said...

Is there any way we can buy these patterns? I saw some Disney ones that are adorable, esp. Pooh and Piglet and Dumbo. Thanks."

the only way I know of to buy the japanese patterns is through e-bay or yes asia. Yes Asia is cheaper it just can take a ton longer to get your books. The reason these are so hard to get here is that they are currently only printed in japan or china. And as a result they have to be shipped in a much much longer process. It's cheaper but can take up to a month.
for instant money eating results I'd use e-bay. A lot of sellers have amigurumi books. Just try searching for the following:
Amigurumi, Japanese craft books, nuigurumi, etc.
Many sellers have buy it now items that are available. Also remember on e-bay you can do a search and if what you are looking for isn't available then save your search and e-bay will let you know when an item is listed that fits your search. :)
Sorry if that doesn't help. :(

And to sweetenthis post a bit here are some more adorable patterns by anapaulaoli:
Jellyfish tree ornament
Tiny Cactus
I can't remember if I posted the following or not:

Gnathies' Latest

Little Bunny Boohoo

For those of you wondering I am alive. We had a long weekend at renaissance festival on Saturday and were really busy on Sunday with church. Then Monday night we had to put one of our three ferrets to sleep and I feel like I haven't gotten good sleep in a while. I much look forward to being able to sleep in on Friday and Saturday. :)
Due to the ferret being put to sleep my etsy shop has been put on hold. So At some point you can expect some free patterns from me. Not my lobster or koi though sorry. I still want to sell those patterns in case anything happens to one of my other two fuzzies. I will be putting some things up in it in the next few weeks. But till then I'm busy trying to finish my entry for the artsy toys challenge on craftster and spinning up a storm for the Handspun Yarn Swap, not to mention I really need to get off my butt and start some Christmas presents.
But I am trolling for patterns.

a pattern

Beary Jackson

No question but Clarifing anyway

Ami List fully supports sharing of Free patterns. However if some how I wind up linking to something and the designer does not want the item linked please Let me know!
I want to support designers and help them get visits and more people exposed to their patterns. But if thy don't like it I respect that.
I do have one designer who has asked me to re-direct my links to her blog and I am planning to do that. (I think I did but can't remember.) Just keep in mind that I do work 4 days of the week and Though I sneak on the computer for you guys I can't be around all day. ;)
*hugs*

It's really nice to know people read this blog! *hugs* I mean I check the counter but sometimes I wonder if I'm visiting more than I thought! lol

KittyKatt on craftster let me in on these awesome links. You click the picture and it shows the whole ami book! I thought this was an awesome find. Everything is in japanese but the charts are pretty easy to read. SC in a spiral and the count for the stitches is at the end of each round.
Thanks KittyKat! I know I'll be using this and many others too!
